RAWR!!! The Gig Goes To Paradox Part 2

RAWR!!! The Gig is back with its 2nd installment! Brand new acts!If you are new to the local music scene, this is the place to be! Come hang out and this is where you can showcase your talent. Darren Teh is constantly on the look out for new fresh faces!

Performing this time round are:

1.) Heart A Tack http://www.facebook.com/HeartATackBandThis band was formed in 2007, we consist of 6 individuals from the same school.The excitement of making music which involves the unpredictable reactions from people around us just makes us want to do our best in what we do. The band was also one of the winners of the Astro Hitz Music Video Grant for their song ‘Hilangkan’. They are working on their EP at the moment.

According to Amrita, she ‘writes, sings and daydreams’. Only at 16, she has already written a ton of songs. Mostly on life and love. I’d say she’s the Malaysian Taylor Swift. She’s been performing quite a bit and for the recent FEYST by Doppelganger KL. This singer/songwriter is and would be the next big thing!

Fresh in the scene, and fronted by Joshua Ganesan, who plays the acoustic guitar and sings, Son Of A Policeman will be gracing the stage for the first time. Already with a demo song recorded recently, these guys are looking to make it big with their blend of music.

Fronted by Scott from metal band, A Ruthless Cleansing, HMH is his alter ego where he gets in touch with his pop personality. Only a few months old, and a couple of songs in the works, HMH claims that they are heavily influenced by A Day To Remember and Taking Back Sunday. Fresh from the oven! You have to be here to catch them!

5.) Daniel Wong

Daniel, frontman/keyboardist of Wanted Symphony is going solo for RAWR!!!. Imagine Robin Thicke. Daniel’s vocals are amazing and his piano playing is equally as good. Listen and let his music speak for itself!

6.) 1 + 1 = 2 http://www.facebook.com/opoe2

1+1=2 is a new band hailing from Kepong. With so many different personalities in the band, their influences ranges from Paramore to Foo Fighters to 30 seconds to Mars to Avenged Sevenfold and even local act An Honest Mistake, it’s hard to put down their genre for now. Their past performances have been in proms, George from the Wishing’s farewell at Doppel Cafe and the latest being Laundry’s YouTube to YouLive being the top 10 finalists. They are now in a writing new material and you will not be let down!

7.) Kelly Siew http://www.facebook.com/kellysiewmusic

Kelly is a talented singer-songwriter and her journey has started since she was 7. Born and raised in Malaysia, she has participated and won various singing competitions over the years. It certainly didn’t stop after she came to Australia for her study – she won Melbourne University karaoke championship 2 years in a row in 2002 and 2003 and that has helped her gaining many gigs in Melbourne.
She is also the 1st runner up for the International Chinese New Talent Singing Championship in the Melbourne division in 2007. Amazing talent that shouldn’t be missed out!

After releasing a 6 track EP titled ‘Satellite’ in 2010, Malaysia based Alternative/Indie Freak Folk singer-songwriter has dominate the Malaysian indie scene, After Touring China and Singapore with his tunes, Ariff AB is certain to take on anything. Upcoming Album Titled ‘Transmission’ will be release in 2012.

9.) AVG http://www.facebook.com/avgtheband

Combination of amazing and talented musicians from top bands, in other words, this is a band of superstars in their own right. Newly added vocalist, Sarah, AVG is ready to rock. Pop punk/Easycore at its best. Expect only the best from them!
